Welcome to our new website!
End of Life Events
At Temple Emanu-El, just as we celebrate together, we mourn together as well, with our clergy and congregation there to prop each other up during difficult times. In addition to our clergy providing spiritual guidance and leading prayer at lifecyle events, our Chesed and Bikkur Cholim Committees can give emotional support and concrete assistance to those recuperating and to families who have recently suffered loss.
Funerals
Temple Emanu-El clergy can conduct funeral services for our congregants and members of their immediate families. Both the sanctuary and chapel are available to Temple Emanu-El members for family funerals.
Mourning/Shiva
For congregants sitting shiva, our clergy are able to lead shiva minyanim in the home.
Unveilings
Temple Emanu-El clergy are available to conduct members’ and their families’ unveilings, which per Jewish tradition, typically take place six months to one year after the deceased is buried.
Cemetery
Cemetery plots are available for Temple Emanu-El members at Beth El / Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ.
You can purchase a plot by contacting our Operations Manager Julia Vazquez at 201-750-9997 or vazquez@tecloster.org.
Memorial Plaques
The pain of losing a loved one never truly leaves us. For those who would like to commemorate a loved one on the day of their yahrzeit, a plaque on our Memorial Wall is available for purchase. The plaque’s corresponding light will be lit on the Friday preceding the anniversary of your loved one’s passing and kept lit through the following week.
Our clergy is available to assist Temple Emanu-El members with all lifecycle events, in support of you and your family: To celebrate with you in times of joy and to guide you in moments of struggle, from the beginning of life to its inevitable culmination.
Families must be a member of Temple Emanu-El to celebrate a lifecycle with us.
