Clothing, Deception, and Identity*

Join us for a learning session with Rabbi Dani Passow, Senior Director of Community Learning at Hadar Institute. What do our clothes reveal about who we are, and can changing what we wear actually change who we become? Beginning with Jacob’s disguise as Esau, we’ll explore biblical, rabbinic, Hasidic, and contemporary reflections on clothing, deception, and identity. Along the way, we’ll consider how the roles we take on shape our identities and whether we lose some aspect of authenticity in that process.
