Sisterhood

Some of the strongest bonds of our congregation exist not just among family members, but amongst friends who have become like family. Dating all the way back to 1928, our Sisterhood group provides enrichment for the mind and soul and a haven for togetherness. Our social and educational programming includes lectures on women’s health and parenting, cooking classes, craft nights, Sisterhood Shabbat, and an extensive Purim Shalach Manot program. The Sisterhood group also provides Shiva meals to families in mourning, maintains our Judaica shop, sends care packages to college students, and supports the synagogue financially and through volunteerism. Registration for Sisterhood events is open to all, but available at a discount for synagogue members.

While our Sisterhood group is open to and attended by women of all ages, we have another group, Z’havah, that offers events catered to young professionals  and moms to young children. Some past event highlights are challah baking, yoga, beading, and pottery painting.

Contact Ruthie Nussbaum for more information about participating.
